Reflection
Web quests are great to help students explore, work as a team and learn and understand technology better. I thoroughly enjoyed working on the Web quest, as well as learning a lot from it, which I will talk about later, with what I did learn. The task was not easy; it required thinking reflection, research, team work, etc. Web quests are a great way of helping the students and teachers build a knowledge of technology, research (how to) and working as a team. Being able to work as a group on this Web quest was wonderful. We were all able to contribute to the Web quest. I enjoyed how we were all able to come up with great and different ideas, which contributed to the Web quest, and helped the task become more effective.
Web quests are not a simple task, both for the teacher and the student. The web quest required a good deal thinking, researching, knowledge and teamwork. Through this experience nonetheless, we, as a group, were able to get to know each other better, and compliment one another.
I would love to perform a web quest in my physical education classes. I feel it would be a great tool to help the children understand the importance of health and fitness. It would also help them know how to work as a team/group, which could help them in the future as they experience adult life, and go on to college and careers. Through the research I was able to do for the web quest, I was able to discover information, and gain important knowledge I didn’t know before. Therefore, if I as a future teacher for physical education was able to acquire a small amount of such important data; how much more key should it be for the students to be able to do the same.
It was simple to be able to transfer our information from our google documents to the web quest. But, some parts were more difficult to perform, such as
I believe having more time to prepare a web quest would help a web quest be more efficient. The more knowledge on the topic which is acquired by the teacher, the more the student will understand their task, and know where to go and what to do to complete the task successfully. I suppose having a greater knowledge of how to transfer information (to the web quest), being able to use hyperlinks and knowing what sources will be the most efficient and valuable, would be more helpful with assisting me having a more effective web quest.
Even though I am going to be a physical education teacher, having a strong knowledge of technology would be a great benefit. As I have more knowledge of how to use technology, I would be more effective in planning a web quest for my classes. I would be able to gain more knowledge through classes, other teachers and even the internet itself. Web quest is a great tool in helping students show their strengths, while yet, improving their weakness, or skills that will help them in the future. Web quest is also a great tool in helping teachers sees the students’ strengths, and also knowing what areas their students need work on; while yet, as a group the students can help each other improve on their weakness, and continue to develop their strengths, through helping each other out.
